Handheld & PDAs Optical Probes
Intelliprobe offers a series of optical probes designed to transfer data between Handheld computers and/or other PDA devices and electric meters designed in accordance to ANSI C12.18 or IEC 62056 (formerly IEC 1107) protocols.
The iP500-100 and iP500-200 series of optical probes are designed to communicate with ANSI meters via their optical port. These probes can be configured to interface to any handheld computer or PDA device used for meter reading via their serial ports. The serial ports can come in any variety of connectors such as DB9, LEMO, Hirose and others used in popular handhelds such as DAP 9500/9800, Intermec, Itron, Radix and others. These optical probes get their power from the computer’s serial ports.
The iP300-100 and iP300-200 series of optical probes are designed to communicate with IEC meters via their optical port. These probes can also be configured to interface to any handheld computer or PDA device used for meter reading just like the iP500 series mentioned above.
These series of optical probes are constructed with aluminum housing and the most rugged coiled cables available that withstand the harshest environments. As an option, we also offer these probes with straight cables measuring 5 feet (1.5 meters) long.
